Miramar Project Plan Unveiled

The Daily Sound reported today that Rick Caruso unveiled new plans for the Miramar property and that it will be a 210 room hotel, banquet, restaurant and lounge facility -- three rooms less than Ian Schraeger's plan. Parking will be underground. The price for the property is assumed to top the $43 million Ty Warner paid for it in 2005.

Sara: Note that SB Newsroom has quite a lengthy piece on this today that you can post a link to.

SB Newsroom failed to mention that a lot of us don't want to see this project completed. Tear down the buildings and leaves this as open space for the community.

Anonymous: I guess if "a lot of" you could raise $43+ million and BUY the property and turn it into a land trust as open space in perpetuity, you might have a fighting chance to get the owner to sell to you.

If that's not what you're proposing, I suggest you go fly into a different wind.

Are you saying that SB Newsroom & Daily Sound are lying when they report that not a hand went up when the presenter asked who was opposed to the concept? Were you even at the public meeting, or are you just trolling?

I'm concerned about global warming and what the world is going to be like for my kids. More building doesn't seem too eco friendly.
