Seen in a crowded Harry's Bar and Restaurant Friday night (Aug. 31st): Jeramy Gordon, Jerry Roberts, and Arthur Nipper Von Whosinburger. No, not dining together, and probably not even aware of each other there.

Question: Which one has a distinguished 40 year career in American journalism, which one founded and invested in a successful daily newspaper, and which one edited his high school paper before opening a nightclub?

The "Plaza Cafe" name is out.
It is just "Harry's Bar and Restaurant" and apparently in the order.
The letter that Ms. McCaw sent to me is disgusting. In an earlier string someone asked for it to be posted. I won't do that. It is ourageous, defamatory, and insipid. What else?
Well in truth she states that the fact that I canceled makes me insensitive to the plight of the helpless abused ones of this world. If I don't see the error in my ways, she asks me to at least understand that she intends to fight this scourge to the bitter end. Very very very sick!
But personally signed by her. (Hmmmm, wonder what those little initials were at the end of her signature?) Oh must have just been a slip on the poison pen.

BobB - what is sick is claiming a letter says certain scurilous things, identifying the writer of the letter but refusing to post the exact letter. That is not fair play.
That just does not seem right in light of all the attacks on Wendy and Travis being devious and defamatory. Yet, you indulged in some pretty underhanded tactics now yourself.
What is coming out of all of this is the fact we are ALL going to have to co-exist together in this town. Wendy et al is growing a new constituency which may well impact the make-up of the next city council.
Everyone is getting dirtied trying to put the "other side" down, when in fact a town this small simply does not need a scorched earth mentality that is becoming all too apparent on too many issues, well beyond just the NewsPress outcomes.
Yes, it appears that Wendy McCaw's "scorched earth" mentality in threatening shop owners and all the rest is spreading.
Most of us have so moved on from the NewsPress stuff. Put them all in a sandbox and let them have at it.
Let them scorch each other, but the rest of us have moved on to other media sources or back to the NewsPress, or never left it in the first place.
The NP LRB trial is boring. Even Craig Smith says it is no slam dunk. Get on with your lives people. This city is in major trouble, not the media.
Today, the internet allows anyone to stay on top of matters with getting them spoon fed, bias or not, from any one media source.
I read in a Business Wire that Dr. Laura will perform with a circus. Isn't Wendy McCaw an animal rights advocate? I find it revolting either one of them tolerate that. They are moving into Michael Vicks care of the animals he loves territory. It's a good thing the hearings suck up the news around here.
The hearings are dull. Everyone has moved on, they still want to keep up. The Scopes Trial is still a topic, some things go on forever. Don't read the blogs you're bored with. I agree with Wendy about Gossip & would like to see paparazzi of our local celebrities.
