Nuns Paying for Sins of The Fathers...

This Washington Post article shows how Santa Barbara nuns are paying for the sins of the fathers. It seems the church needs to sell some property to handle their legal bills....sad we will lose that history, also sad that the church hasn't seemed to learn a rather biblical lesson of treating others as we would treat ourselves. The church clearly has little choice in terms of raising the funds necessary but also is paying for the sin of omission over many years. Worst of all, nuns are paying for the sins of their male counterparts.

Thank you for helping bring this travesty to the public's awareness. I've already sent my check to the Sisters...I hope others will follow from Santa Barbarans of all religions. Ernie Salomon should get lots of credit for spear-heading the operation to help find a new home for the Nuns; these women have dedicated their lives in the service of others - let's return the favor.

It's hard to confirm who you say you are but thank you! I agree and hope Ernie's efforts are successful.

If it is Dr. Laura, and the commentary certainly has a truthful tone and diction when I read it, thank you for comment associated with your real name. I pray, that your gesture may serve as an example to all those here who step up to the plate as merely anonymous. (Travis are you listening?)

Your point is well taken as usual. I got my checkbook out.

Be careful though. Wendy might sue you. Sara has warned us. And watch out for any human bias in your tales. Did these nuns have any noteworthy pets?

And sincerely, next time you see your son, tell him thank you for his service and God Bless Him. We know it's tough.

Call me my son in the 82nd's Dad.

My dear friends raised their children with Our Lady of Guadalupe. This deeply effects all of us. They have a nephew in Afghanistan and are stunned with the mysterious death of National Guard Spc. Ciara Durkin in Bagram Air Base. We understand she was near her place of worship. Money is sometimes what is needed. Spc. Durkin's family is already frustrated with inconsistencies. A strong campaign to get to the truth would help prevent another scandal. If I had a large forum I'd make certain we need transparency.

Mr. Dal Bello, Mr. Salomon, Mayor Blum and others have been openhanded with their time and energy. This story reaches far and wide.

If that is the News-Press columnist, I will look forward to seeing her on Ernie Salomon-Live! COM-TV 17. It would be good for all if they could begin discussions on the many problems of Santa Barbara. She has a forum to help get the ball rolling on the Bagram death probe.

What is with the Sisters shouldn’t relocate “near” the existing convent? The Archdiocese isn't getting enough bad press?

October 4 The DAILY SOUND reports SOS has raised $6,242 . That gives them 3 months. Salomon said donations can be sent to:
Sisters of Bethany
215 N. Nopal St.
Santa Barbara, CA 93101

How about a raffle for the Nuns? Someone donate a racing boat. Thank you

The church has always been good at raising money. Why pay rent for some sisters when the public can do it?

Before anybody gives a cent, all money acquired by the church through conquest should be used first. I would suggest an ebay auction of the piles of stuff in the Vatican museum. That should go for a pretty penny. The next step should be the sale of all land owned by the church.

After all that, then I will open my wallet.

I'm an atheist that loves tamales and cares for human beings, children, the aged and infirmed. Didn't the church give the Sisters the boot? It is up to Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Put up significantly or shut up. That link is bogus, probably some cruel joke.
