Strickland Chooses Tabling at Borders Over Educator Meeting?
Interesting piece over at the Ventura County Star blog that accuses Sen. Tony Strickland of choosing tabling at Borders in Goleta over a meeting with educators in Ventura. Democratic activists had sent out an email about Strickland's tabling that morning as if it was October and the 19th Senate District was at stake. It left me wondering if we will ever get a break from that contentious campaign.
A post a few days prior shows Pedro Nava and his wife Susan Jordan promoting her recently announced campaign for the State Assembly. Jordan, who is director of the California Coastal Protection Network, is already campaigning hard while Nava is talking up a run for Attorney General. It's two years from now but I guess you have to start somewhere -- especially if you might run against someone more well known. I'm guessing there will be a battle royale between Jordan and someone like First District Supervisor Salud Carbajal who has been quietly raising and saving money for several years.
Welcome to the permanent campaign.

Salud has earned the best shot at this race. Down with nepotism. We can't afford more years of the Nava ineffectiveness. My vote is going to Salud. No question.
Ok, Sara, clearly you are still carrying a flame for HBJ. But why is meeting with a bunch of Educrats more important than meeting with the average voter in the district? Most of whom have precious few opportunities to talk face to face with their State Senator?
power to the people -- no offense but sometimes I wonder how assumptions like yours are made? I clearly stated that the Democratic activists went too far, asked why can't the election be over and I'm carrying the flame? I think that sounds pretty good considering....
Salud is a joke. The ONLY reason he sits on the BOS is because Naomi put him there. He's partisan. Almost all of his decisions are politically motivated. And he's the most, uh, let's just say, intellectually-challenged of the board members. Donna Jordan is 1000% more qualified to take Nava's seat...regardless of her marital status.
I am hoping one of the stellar Ventura County Supervisors--- Bennett, Long or Parks---jumps into the fray---any of those would be a refreshing change from the incestuous, bitter, calculating Santa Barbara clan......Jordan, carbajal, nava, etc
Donna Jordan is the former council woman from Carpinteria who retired from the council due to a loss of hearing in one of her ears...so I assume Bill Carson means Susan Jordan.
Speaking of intellectually challenged, whatever happened to Gail Marshall?
Ooops. Yes, Susan Jordan.
