Need a Job? SBNP has Openings...

I had to laugh looking through the classified today in the News-Press. Maybe a third of the page was dedicated to job listing in classified, legal, and reporting, etc. At least twelve jobs listed in all.

With an unconfirmed report of Camilla Cohee resigning in a recent comment -- perhaps there will be thirteen openings listed tomorrow. I was fantasizing that Carpinteria Mayor Donna Jordan might circle De La Guerra Plaza and pick Cohee up on her way out as a nod to the reporter's integrity. Her boyfriend Council Member Barnwell would certainly let her ride shotgun and they could fly out to Carpinteria and Jordan would treat them to a DIY steak at The Palms over a few martinis.

It would be interesting to hear if there was a good story in how she resigned....

More monkeying with the news at the News-Press? It is national and international news that Wendy has been absent from the meltdown at the News-Press, staying in Europe. The News-Press' lavish front page coverage of the Kirk Douglas bash at the Bacara didn't mention that she had slipped back into town.

Had to read about it, once again, in the L.A. Times. http://hollywoodbytes.latimes.com/fashion/2006/08/santa_barbara_g.html

"And there to applaud the screen legend; his son, Joel Douglas, (Michael sent a videotaped congrats) Carol Burnett, Christopher Lloyd, Robert Forrester, Richard Riordan and controversial Santa Barbara News-Press owner/co-publisher Wendy McCaw."

Bender -- the last comment I got from you was in the Truth and Consequences post that started off with "WOOOOH!". I didn't reject it so if you had another I haven't received it.....BlogaBarbara uses comment moderation and comments aren't posted automatically....of course you have a right to use humor -- in good taste. Post again if you need to.

Sara,

Camilla Cohee is married to Councilmember Brian Barnwell. He is not her "boyfriend" They are currently wrapping up their honeymoon, after being engaged for the past year.

I guess this goes here. I heard a rumor today that Travis Armstrong was trying to intimidate the public access TV channel to prevent the broadcasting of the community meeting about the News-Press meltdown. I heard that Armstrong is claiming that public access TV cannot broadcast the event because the channel gets public financing. Has anybody heard this rumor?

Darling,

Thanks for noticing! Sadly, yes--I tried to log-on to the myspace profile only to find it had been deleted without my consent. What can I say, my lawyers are just too efficient for their own good!

Anyway, I have a new home at:

Not as flashy, and still a work-in-progress (like the paper!) but it will do for my crazy ramblings. Thanks to everyone who dropped by, added me as a friend, or commented at myspace. It caused my heart to raise from 17 to about 23 degrees Fahrenheit. *sniff*
