School Board Predictions

There are several school board elections -- SB School District being the biggest? Can Noel fend off a challenge from Parker and Cawthon?

This teacher and mother would love to see Parker and Cawthon bring their experience and reason to the board, but feels only one of them will be elected to join Noel, whose self-aggrandizing bombast and big spending on advertising are probably going to give him the name recognition so many voters (unfortunately) use to cast their ballots these days.

Best of luck to Kate Parker and Suzy Cawthon; our children deserve you!

Katy and Suzy. Then the School Board will go on a spending bender.

Bob had to loan himself money to pay for the new TV ads, indicating no real support.

Bob Noel is the saving grace of the School Board. We'd better hope he stays in there.

Suzy is a financial whiz, Kate is level-headed and knows the issues, Bob has experience and a gadfly style, Rosanne speaks Spanish, but I really think the winners will be:

THINKER BILL HACKETT and MICHELLE MAGDALENA MADDOX!! GO BILL AND MICHELLE!

Bill truly believes that our students should have the same opportunities as students in Libya, and while Michelle has officially withdrawn from the race, I don't think we should overlook her plan to move teachers into funky old houses downtown. I think she'll serve if we vote her in! So come on all of you in the greater Santa Barbara community and pay attention!

It's a long shot...but Suzy would bring some youth AND experience...two needed qualities.

Cawthorn is towing the high-density development line. Blech! She doesn't belong in representative governement here.

Wow -- you obviously know a lot about her since you know how to spell her name so well. GOVERNMENT by the way. Noel supporters must be scared.

To the point, if you are referring to the Hidden Valley and Tatum properties -- Cawthon has not said they should be developed and to say so is an obfuscation.

Dear anon 6:51pm--

Suzy's ommission of her opinion on the controversial land-use issues from her website indicates that her stance is most likely unpopular. Plus she is endorsed by others who have stated support for dense development (Rose, the school board members, etc.)

Congartualtions on your expertise in spelling and typing. You must be so proud.
