It's great to have a local TV organization that values free speech and provides a vehicle for citizen voices, regardless of the speaker or opinion, to be heard.

Thank you Santa Barbara Channels!

Yes, SB Channels! It's a place where all voices can be heard. I usually tune in while surfing, it's good to be reminded when to see an entire showing. Thank you. I find all aspects in the New-Press situation important. It was the community daily. Bloga is another place for all sides to have a say. Regarding the News-Press, I'd like someone to clear up more of the confusion for the common people. I'd like to hear what the paper has to say, however, writing there is pointless. I understand the paper is in transition. What is the time schedule and their end plan? The former Page 2 column was once local. I didn't always like Barney's slant, but I did appreciate his information and he was a local voice. I missed where the News-Press explained or announced the change? This lack of clartiy is frustrating. How could one get an update on their intention with Page 2 column? Dear Abby is syndicated, Dr. Laura is with Fox News and World Net Daily. I don't check out Dear Abby for local updates. I don't understand why they want two global types, Dear Abby and Dr. Laura. It only infuriates people like me, conservatives and Republicans, when Dr. Laura disrespects the community by posing as local. I know she physically lives here. She needs to show more heart, mind and soul toward whole community and demonstrate local. "Yikes! Watch out for the union gulag" is considered local by News-Press because Santa Barbara News-Press is mentioned once in first paragraph? Wouldn't it help promote her opinion to keep it more local? We can read WSJ without her copy taking up 1/3 of a column. She pretty much copies Oprah with book suggestions. Her subjects are the issues that sell her books, it's an underhanded way for her to do sales. This week 1/3 of Dr. Laura column was a no name, no location, no date letter to exault, guess who? This is typical of many of her columns. I can read this on World Net Daily and her website. Prehaps the daily local paper will consider adding a column that is local?

I saw the march and it was impressive. INSPIRATIONAL!Isn't it great others are also free to express their feelings and opinions? Anon 11:38a, you can read World Net Daily and Dr. Laura. There are people who continue to miss and want an honest daily paper here. We're glad to have the marches and protests. I don't have a problem with other opinions. I believe a boycott would help. Is there a fund to help the workers who would be financially effected?

635,

No fund of that sort yet. There are two other funds -- one a loan fund for those fired or forced out, and the other a legal defense fund. For more information on these and more follow the links on the right side of this page here: Save the News-Press
