Ex-Public Defender Sues County

Apparently County CEO Mike Brown will have some 'splainin to do in court. Former Public Defender Jim Egar filed a 51-page lawsuit las Friday which accuses Brown of intimidation, profanity and even spitting.

Here's the Santa Maria Times article on the subject.

Shakespeare said something about lawyers as I recall.

I also note that Congress is largely composed of lawyers.

They need to have other ways of improving their bottom line...Think what all that money could do for needy folks or the war in Iraq!

where to begin.......how about--- why didn't they fire him five years ago? or three years ago? oh wait they gave him a raise?!?!?

he has got to go. the Supervisors need to do what we elected them to do-- be in charge of the county.

Egar wanted to take a few days off from his work with our County to pad his retirement package from Orange County where he came from! And we wonder why county taxpayers are fed up with these people...

Maybe this new Board will get some guts and see that they have a real liability on their hands with this guy Brown. I would imagine that there are lots of Administrators out there with the basic social skills required to run the County. It sure seems like we have a pattern here....

As usual, where's the NP in all of this? MIA and scooped by the blogs and real newspapers. Again.

Mike Brown is a tyrant. Someone finally had the guts to stand up to him and literally gets spit upon by someone making over 200k/yr.

looks like none other than Andy Caldwell is defending Mike Brown, on his radio show.....with friends like that.............kissing Browns A**
Sounds like he got his talking points directly from
Mike Brown........would be interesting to find out how he got his copy of the lawsuit.

Is he a 'friend' of Wendy's? I don't know if its the 'School of Imus' management style or the blank check [when someone else will pay], that makes him a teflon guy. Lawyers, spinners, previous settlements, basically he's just a very emotional, people person at heart. Strip away all the insults, spit sharing and other ways NOT to be a boss of the year, he's just a misunderstood guy who really has the county's best interest at heart. Bad news NOT from Amper-sand, its a summer of love gift

It's funny that Brooks Firestone is defending Mike Brown so vehimently when he was so pissed a couple years ago at the $1 million settlement they paid to the woman in the CEO's office.

Isn't it clear that Mike B is not a progressive boss and needs firing. Honestly, if you look even a little bit at the County operations and staff you'll see how things good be so much better if they had a quality LEADER who empowers the staff instead of screaming and spitting at them.
