The Slugger On Your Radio
Don't you know you can't get near me
You can only hope to hear me on your radio
On your radio
You're gonna hear me on your radio.
Ex-teachers still coming through to me
Tough kids don't stop trying to kick me to the ground
I don't care
Go on just do what you do to me
You look so sick when youre pushing me around
You're nowhere
Kudos to the first reader who can name that tune and artist....
Da Mayor Marty Blum is now on the radio every Saturday on KTMS 1490 AM. Ironically, KTMS was a News-Press station at one time and was actually broadcast from De la Guerra Plaza. Now, she who has been banned from 1290 AM has one hour a week on KTMS. Classic.
The show will deliver what the News-Press doesn't much of these days -- City Hall news. Da Mayor will take a few calls at 879-5867 every Saturday from Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Joe Jackson - On the Radio
On your radio, by Joe Jackson
Joe Jackson: "On Your Radio" (of course)
Does anyone know if there will be a podcast version of the Mayor's show?
I'd sure like to add it to my iPod.
I think radio is a great format for talking with civic leaders. I am pleased that Marty Blum is broadcasting.
Don
Joe Jackson, "On Your Radio." That's looking sharp, Sara!
Say, if the mayor's radio show is podcast, along with the city council meetings televised, then the Santa Barbara News-Press can outsource its coverage of city news to India. Other governing boards whose meetings are televised can also have their coverage outsourced.
Perhaps a local gossip column can also be outsourced to India. It couldn't be any worse than reading Dr. Laura and the new British guy whose focus on the Queen of England makes local readers wonder, "Who is this guy and why do we care to read about the Queen? Princess Diane was the only genuine person ever to grace the palace and do good for the world."
A podcast of the Mayor's show is a great idea. Maybe newspress.com could add it as a download that's updated weekly.
Somebody tell me why they still use Marty's voice in the 1290 radio promo for their TA talk show -she leads off with her name in her voice, as each of the local personalities introduce themselves for I do believe the Travis Armstrong talk show.
Can't Marty sue for malicious use of her identity for their profit? At least for holding her in a false light?
Gee, where is DL today? Here is what the News-Mess says:
