I didn't have time to listen. Did they ask Helene Schneider to stop talking to the newspress and respect "Operation Cold Shoulder"? That was quite a piece of self promotion that she fed to Steepleton on helping the homeless...

$30 million a year to help 1000 hard core homeless. Do the math.

Yet, we have thousands more who are just plain hardcore vagrants and slackers.

That problem is not being addressed by the annual $30 million at all - they just get in our faces, and we do nothing about that problem except send out the message that even more of them are welcome in our fair and "compassionate" city.

No one quibbles about helping the hardcore homeless that need to all be made wards of the court and their care efficiently handled for far less than $30 million a year.

What this $30 million does do right now is pay the salaries for those who claim they "help" the homeless - it pays only to keep their own jobs and in fact does nothing at all to help the real homeless problem whatsoever, because for $30 million a year for only a 1000 people, this problem should have been cleared up years ago.

And it has not, but all those "helping" people still have their jobs "helping".

Call this program what it is - full employment for those "helping" with guaranteed no solution for those most in need of help.

Get them all declared wards of the court ASAP - they are a danger to themselves with their lifestyle choices. This is a no-brainer. Then get their guardians to make better choices for them than they have been making for themselves.

And then ask why this has not been done already, a long time ago and a few hundreds of millions of dollars ago.

Insanity.

I didn't realize the topic of this post was Santa Barbara's homeless "problem", but let's jump right in:

Rather than declaring them wards of the court, a much cheaper solution would be a whole lot of rounds of hollow-pointed ammunition, which could be deployed to vigilantes like anonymous 7:17pm.

That'll larn 'em, don'cha think?!!!
