Santa Barbara Santa Claus

I truly wish you all a Merry Christmas! Although I missed acknowledging Hanukkah a few weeks ago, I hope all of you had special time with your families during this holiday season -- no matter how you celebrate it.

Uncle Don Jose sent in this article from the LA Times about John Dickson who, as it turns out, gets phone calls for Santa Claus because his toll-free phone number is one digit off spelling "Santa Claus" on your phone dialing pad.

Good for Dickson for taking these calls and brightening a child's day...I guess these kids are lucky to have called a Santa with a good heart.

Isn't fat Santa a robber baron similar to Wendy McCaw? Bah.... At least the children can't see his excess on the phone. Heathen Christians have done enough harm. What is wrong with celebrating solstice? Now that $anta is a commercial icon and Christ his violent helper, Christianity is void. We can do better for children. Celebrate the light with joy and truth.

I enjoyed working as "Sandy Claus" aka Mrs Claus- it was really fun...too bad my idea of working a tuesday 2-4 pm, then walking out to State and enjoying Farmers Market afterward was blown out by some much needed rain!!

Our Family ate like Kings and enjoyed our good tidings- hope your Family did as well.
