Blogabarbara Mention!
We didn't know "The Slugger" was a fan of Blogabarbara! If you saw yesterday's News-Press -- you'll notice she mentioned us in the fundraising letter they reprinted verbatim. We aren't sure whether to think it's scary that we were included or to be proud that are reputation as psuedo-journalists has now been elevated. In any event, I was on vacation until yesterday and came back to find the barrel of ink in the Voices section of the News-Press.
If Cannon or I were her campaign manager (possibly even Frank), we probably wouldn't have said what she said -- but no one said Mayor Blum didn't have an independent streak. It's something I value but also something that can get one in trouble...it's great that she's joining us in taking on the boys in the newsroom, but I'm not sure it's her best move. Lucky for her there is no opponent to worry about -- we'll see what happens at the filing deadline on August 12th.

How did it come to be that nobody wants to run for Mayor of this town? How low have we sunk when people supporting the Mayor strut about questioning if the likes of Bill Hackett will "walk the walk"? How low have we yet to sink? It's mid-June!! Remember when Bruce was a joke? He would win this year. Not because of a sudden burst of insanity in the public mind, but because the idea of voting NO on what is becoming a disgracefully run re-election campaign is becoming the attractive option. The best mind on the current Council is Helene Schneider. Could we draft her?

i love the stuff about it not being her best move (attacking the news press) and these same people said the same about the police union on this site --- do you think we're so stupid about why you say this and your motives? Marty, on the web we know people adopt different id's. We just wish Harriet would run again - she would never hide behind all this as Marty and Joe Blum do. And I always thought Docs were better than this - maybe he's just hen-pecked.
i'm interested - we're hearing alot about marty blum self-destructing - is she okay? remember her words abour katy janeway? i'm worried for her.
i wonder if blum will ever survive this ........ looking like a fool ....... she cemented that... I love this web site, letting us tell it like it is!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anybody catch the Slugger on the Connie Bryan Show? After watching that Hackett, crazy as he is, has to be feeling good. Pathetic.
