Tippecanoe and Tyler Too.
The News-Press endorsed council candidate Terry Tyler today. It's a little bit of a surprise as they have been using the distinction "recommendation" in recent years over the word endorse.
Tyler, who only recently came back from an extended vacation to run for council, has not recevied any other major endorsements that I know of.
What's the connection here? Will we soon see News-Press lawnsigns for Tyler?

Tyler would have accepted endorsements if any were offered to him. But since he got no big endorsements, he then claims he did not want nor accept any.
Tyler actively sought the Police Association endorsement, but he is too much of a short-term budget watcher, the police knew not to support him cuz he would not support City spending for police salaries.
A quick Google search shows that Tyler also has the support of the Republican Party, Bob Kallman, Robert Geis and Gary Feramisco.
Tyler and Redd will compete for the same voters, so should help Horton, Channing, and House.
Also note the sliver (i.e., small) ads in News-Press with Lanny Ebenstein touting endorsements by:
Bob Pohl
Robert Kahlman
Brooks Firestone
Dan Secord
Is that supposed to help him in Santa Barbara?
